CANOEING

VOYAGE AIR'S Alberta base is located at the junction of the renowned Clearwater and Athabasca rivers.
This means that you can fly upstream as far as you want to and paddle back to
your point of origin. Think about it... Half the price because you don't have to get
picked up!
Each summer we take many paddlers east and up into northern Saskatchewan so they can either challenge the entire Clearwater river, or just get dropped off at any one of the many beautiful drop off points.
Whether you are an experienced voyageur or just a beginner, the Clearwater river has what you're looking for. Click on the picture to see a video.
The further up the river you go, the more challenging it gets! The topography of the Clearwater ranges from one extreme to the other as seen here. If you want a variety of scenery, this is the place to visit!

Shown here is Skull Canyon in northern Saskatchewan.

Its 50 foot walls and thunderous roar make it one of the highlights of the river. Of course, there are ways around it.

Many groups get dropped off at the north end of Careen Lake (about 120 miles upstream), spend a few days on the beautiful sand beaches, then continue their canoe trip from there (7-10 days) back to Ft. McMurray. The Arctic Grayling are awesome in that area, as well are the Walleye, Lake Trout and of course, Northern Pike.
Be prepared and willing to substitute some white water for your white wine,.... or you can just mix them.
Don't forget the waterproof camera, you'll want one.
